Overview

  • Pick up after lunch by the Let's See Asia tour guide.
  • Proceed to Nallathaniya. The drive from Colombo to Nallathaniya will take approximately 5 hours. We need to arrive in Nallathaniya by around 6 PM, and the climb will begin at around 8 PM. The best time to climb is from December to May, as the other months are considered off-season.
  • It is advisable to start the climb in the evening. Hatton Adam's Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is an important pilgrimage site for devotees of many religions seeking blessings. Buddhists believe that the impression found on the summit is the footprint of the Buddha. Sri Pada is the fourth-highest mountain in Sri Lanka, standing at 2,244 meters, and it takes approximately 4-5 hours to reach the peak on foot.
  • The mountain is also referred to as Samanala Kanda, or Butterfly Mountain. The area is rich in biodiversity and is surrounded by the Peak Wilderness Sanctuary. The pilgrimage season begins on Unduwap Poya in December. Adam's Peak is located 40 kilometers northeast of Ratnapura, and the distance from Colombo to Ratnapura is 94 kilometers. Adam's Peak is largely surrounded by forested hills, with no comparable mountains nearby.
  • The region encompassing Adam's Peak, along with Horton Plains National Park and the Knuckles Range, is recognized as a World Heritage Site as of 2011. 
  • After completion, transfer back to Colombo.

  • Transfer to Nallathaniya.
  • Start Climb Peak around 18.00
  • Awaiting a beautiful sunrise from the top of the Peak
  • After completion, transfer back to Colombo.
